As GYODER, the umbrella organization for the real estate sector, we continue our efforts to elevate the Turkish real estate sector to the position it deserves on the global stage. As a step in this direction, we take pride in representing the Turkish real estate sector at MIPIM 2022, one of Europe's most prestigious real estate fairs, in one of the most visible and active areas, with the GYODER Istanbul Pavilion. The GYODER Istanbul Pavilion at MIPIM 2022 was inaugurated with the participation of Mr. Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey, and Mr. Nureddin Nebati, Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey. On March 16, GYODER hosted a foreign investors’ breakfast at the Carlton Beach Club in Cannes, bringing together international funds and investors to discuss investment opportunities in Turkey. The event saw participation from over 60 high-level international investors, funds, and developers, with a total volume exceeding $500 billion. At the investor breakfast, American strategist and political scientist Dr. George Friedman gave a presentation titled “Geopolitical Insights: Changing Powers in the World and Turkey’s Position.” He also addressed current developments in Europe and Asia. To provide the invited foreign investors with information about Turkey, GYODER presented the report titled “Emerging Areas of Real Estate Investment in Turkey from a Spatial Perspective,” which was specially prepared by PwC Turkey and revealed for the first time at MIPIM. This report highlights the current outlook of the Turkish real estate sector in light of global comparative analysis and emerging trends, while also including potential investment opportunities in alternative areas and themes. Additionally, the project catalog titled “Potential Investment Opportunities in Turkey,” prepared with contributions from EY (Ernst & Young) Turkey, was shared with investors during the breakfast. Throughout the fair, we showcased our pioneering stance in the areas of Design, Technology, Society, and Nature under the “Istanbul Talks” framework, conducting panels and hosting experienced speakers. Moreover, at MIPIM 2022, GYODER signed two significant agreements. We made an important step towards our goal of expanding internationally by signing a cooperation agreement with the Miami Association of REALTORS, the largest local sector association in Miami, representing 50,000 real estate professionals. We also signed an agreement with The Institute of Directors (IoD), which brings together leading companies and successful entrepreneurs in the UK and works to support its members and promote entrepreneurial activities. These cooperation agreements with both associations will create opportunities for Turkey to be more active in new markets and to collaborate on opportunities within our country.
