World-renowned real estate investment expert Samuel Zell, who came to Istanbul to attend the conference organized by GYODER on October 3 at Çırağan Palace, gathered with real estate investors, professionals, financiers, and decision-makers who invigorate the economy and stimulate the markets. During the conference, chaired by Yavuz Canevi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEB, Samuel Zell addressed topics such as global trends, the globalization of REITs, the flow of global capital into the real estate sector, and emerging markets. As the Chairman of numerous publicly traded companies that hold the largest office stock in the United States and as an advisor to many influential companies in international markets, it was aimed for Samuel Zell's interest in Turkey to contribute to the orientation of U.S. firms toward the country. Recognized as one of the most influential figures in the real estate sector in the U.S. and globally, Zell stated that Turkey is the fastest-growing market after Mexico and Brazil, noting a strong demand in such markets. Having served as the president of NAREIT, which has over 300 Real Estate Investment Trusts and more than $500 billion in active assets, for two years, Zell made recommendations for attracting foreign investors to Turkey. Following a barrage of questions from the audience, Erdoğan Bayraktar, President of the Housing Development Administration, took the stage to provide information about ongoing projects. The event concluded with an iftar dinner attended by GYODER members and representatives of the real estate sector.
